Women's Technology Council Lands $10,000 Sponsorship -- Andrew Dietderich, Crain Tech Feb. 21, 2003 The Michigan Council of Women in Technology landed a $10,000 sponsorship from Ford Motor Co. on Thursday. The platinum-level sponsorship will benefit the organization's scholarship and leadership programs aimed at those pursuing careers in technology. The nonprofit is heavily involved in educating youth interested in technology; to date, four scholarships have been given to area college students, the organization sponsors technology camps for elementary school children and hosts monthly technology programs focused on allowing high school students to hear from tech professionals. The council started in April with one goal: to give professional women in Michigan a valuable network of services and programs. The group is made up of executives in information technology, manufacturing technology, professional services and entrepreneurial organizations at all levels of career growth and is marketed to those producing, using and selling technology. Other sponsors of the organization include Microsoft Corp., Delphi Corp., Walsh College, SunTel Services, LogicaCMG and Airfoil Public Relations. |
