WOMEN'S TECH GROUP ANNOUNCES MILESTONES

The Michigan Council of Women in Technology announced several major milestones Monday as it said it would resume its regular program schedule after a summer break. One milestone: the group has launched its Web site, at www.mcwt.org. The site offers information on upcoming events, membership information, news of the group's community work, profiles of leaders and information on sponsorship and leadership opportunities. The group also initiated its first outreach scholarship, announcing that Microsoft Corp. provided a gift to the group to send five girls to the University of Michigan-Flint's first annual Tech Camp over the summer. The organization also set an Oct. 3 meeting titled "Technology in the Fast Lane: Where It Is, Where It's Going and How to Keep Up." Sponsored by Delphi Corp., the event will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy. The organization launched in April.
